For some dog owners, boarding kennels provide the ideal solution for them and their animal whilst they are away. For others the thought of taking their pets away from their comfort zone and putting them in a strange environment, surrounded by other animals, is not the preferred option.

Owners of other pets such as cats, rabbits, hamsters, birds and fish etc, have limited, if any, options available to them should they need to leave the island.

There may be other considerations too, such as special diets, medication, disabilities, age, and also the length of time off the island.

For example; my elderly German Shepherd has never stayed in kennels and is suffering from an illness which requires a special diet and daily medication. This includes having fresh meat and vegetables cooked for him each evening. Most pet boarding facilities would be unable to cater to his specific needs. However, Creature Comfort Samui will endeavour to maintain the normal lifestyle and daily needs of your pet during your absence.

For example on a one-day visa run where you’re likely to be off the island from 5am until 7pm, this would require taking your pet to the kennels the day before and picking them up the day after, and therefore two night’s accommodation.

Another possibility is that you may have a busy day at work scheduled, and getting home to let your pet out or feed them will be impossible. You’ll still be at home in the morning and at night, so pet boarding isn’t an ideal option. The sight or sound of your pet’s presence is an indicator that someone is at home. In addition to this, Creature Comfort Samui will be visiting your home throughout the day at different times, which can also limit the opportunity for burglaries.

The pets, together with Creature Comfort Samui, provide a visible presence and, when using our service, it means that we can take other measures such as opening and closing blinds, and switching lights on and off. By doing this it adds to the normal appearance of the home and the overall comfort of your pet.
